19485 If Shinjaya Malakar isn’t voted off of American Idol tonight, I will know for sure that I am living in the last days.

He seems like a nice guy, but dude…

Of the remaining 8 girls, 6 of them could win the whole thing. I don’t think any of the guys can win…though Chris, Chris 2, Blake and Phil can make it a ways.

A little known fact by some is that contestants Chris Sligh and Phil Stacey are worship ministers…so I gotta pull for them. Chris is at the well known SeaCoast Church, and Phil at First Coast Christian Center in Jacksonville.

Dr. Tim Spivey is Lead Planter of New Vintage Church in San Diego, California. He is the author of numerous articles and one book, "Jesus: The Powerful Servant." A sought after speaker for events, Tim also serves as Adjunct Professor of Religion at Pepperdine University. Tim serves as a church consultant, and his writings are featured on, Church Executive magazine, Faith Village, Sermon Central, and Giving Rocket.

  1. That Sanjaya is still on this show just shows that one of Idol’s main target audiences is teenage girls, who are all texting each other, telling them to vote for this poor boy who has no business going any further. Was that too cynical?
That’s cool about Chris–he definitely moves to one of my favorites. I don’t think Phil has what it takes, and may very well be off tonight in favor of Sanjaya.
Also, points to Blake for originality. Along with Chris, definitely my favorite singer on the boys’ side.

  2. That is cool about Chris Sligh and Phil! I didn’t know that. I completely agree with you about Sanjaya. I just knew the week they said one was going home and one was in the top 4 that he was gone. How ridiculous!! He’s a nice guy, but he isn’t even close to the top 4. I will being doing the dance of joy tonight when (positive thinking!) he is voted off! 🙂
