Last Sunday, my friend Prentice Meador announced that after 19 years, he will be leaving his post as Senior Minister of the Prestoncrest Church of Christ to enter a new ministry teaching preaching at Lipscomb University.

Prentice is all that a minister can be. He is a scholar, communicator, and pastor. He is distinguished but personal, experienced but still creative. Lipscomb will be blessed immeasurably by his new ministry there.

Those of us who are young ministers couldn’t have a better role model. To Prentice…blessings. To Prestoncrest…blessings. To Lipscomb…shame on you…

just kidding…blessings as well.

  1. I hadn’t heard this yet Tim. Prentice has been a great mentor to me. My first preaching internship was with him and I will never forget the ways he taught me the task of preaching. But more than that, I took away from Prentice an authentic faith that lived behind the pulpit. His grace, knowledge, and leadership led the Prestoncrest in an amazing way.
As he influenced me, I pray that his influence will live on through the many young ministers who will learn their task from a living legend.
