One-Year Anniversary

One_year Yesterday was an absolutely great day. We launched a new message series. Psallo was in the house and did a great job leading worship Sunday morning and Sunday evening. It was a pretty intense 15-hour day or so, but there are few things more satisfying than flopping on the couch at the end of a long, good Sunday. It's a good tired. It's a holy tired.

Yesterday was also my 1-year-anniversary at North County. It was with great joy that we (NCCC) announced that we will be adding a third worship service in English to accommodate the growth God has granted us over the past year.

A lot has changed over the past year. The Spiveys are feeling at home in our new home. I feel like I've got a much better feel for the church–our people, our traditions, and our future. We are expecting child number three, and our girls are flourishing. I'm married to the best 🙂

This doesn't mean that life is perfect, or that NCCC doesn't face daunting challenges. I just feel blessed. I never expected that God would have bless our lives the way He has. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. He's been doing it for years 🙂 As for the challenges that lie ahead, a song Psallo sang yesterday with their typical passion and conviction has been going through my head all day:

More than able,

Yes, Yes

He is more than able,

Yes, Yes

  1. This past year has been such a joy for us, having you, Emily and the girls here. You have nudged this congregation toward a very rewarding future. Your attitude has not been one of “I’m in charge here” but of “It’s not about me, it’s about Jesus.” We thank God every day for answering our prayers and sending you to us.
Congratulations on your marriage and your addition to your family!!

  2. Tim,
We are blessed to have you, Emily and the girls here with us! The year has flown by! Yesterday was a wonderful experience from your lesson to praising God with Psallo.
Yes, you are married to the best (although Randy might argue that point!).

  3. Tim, I’m so glad you, Emily, and your girls are all well in San Diego and God is blessing each of you and the work there. God’s continued blessings be on all the above. Happy anny to y’all also! How exciting! I hope and pray y’all are able to stay there as long as possible. Sounds like a great area and a great work! God bless you, your family, and the work y’all are doing.
