On Vacation

Saturday morning, we left on our first true family vacation. This trip is not to visit grandparents, and it is for more than a day or two. This is a week. And it’s to Orlando. What says family like Disney in Orlando and the resulting bankruptcy?

I will continue to post some while we’re on the trip…and some pix when we get back.

Look at Walt Disney sitting behind his desk…

I’m sure he was a wonderful man, but he looks kind of creepy here.

  1. Disney World with kids is great! We went when ours were 4 and 8 and we all want to go back again. In fact, I’d go back even without my kids 🙂 But you aren’t kidding about the bankruptcy! The cost of things in the park is worse than a sporting event. Which is already pretty bad. But it’s all good in the end. As the commercial says, seeing the looks on your kids faces as they meet all those Disney characters…Priceless!!

  2. We went a few years ago to Orlando for vacation, the week after Thanksgiving and it was the best time of the year to go. We had the theme parks to ourselves. No lines! Great golf weather. I bet it’s the same now. Have fun.

  3. You better really enjoy this week. Forecasters are calling for a winter storm next weekend in Dallas. You may be marooned in Florida, something that could wipe out your retirement.
