For Holy Week Reflection – The Disciples by Eugene Burnand

I’ve always loved this painting, “The Disciples,” by Eugene Burnand. It’s full name is The Disciples Peter and John Running to the Sepulcher on the Morning of the Resurrection, c.1898. I love how Burnand makes us feel the hope in their eyes and coolness of that morning as Peter and John are en route to beholding the greatest miracle in the history of the world. Join me in some minutes of reflection on this remarkable painting today.
