First Sermon Back

Well…I have one under my belt now. It was so good to be back at HOCC. We began a month-long series on Communion. It was great to see everyone, great to be preaching again. Today was like taking off your new baseball mitt and putting your old one back on…wonderful.

This weeks blog posts will be some reflections on the sabbatical experience.

  1. The analogy of pulling on your old baseball glove fits from the interpreter’s standpoint too. I’m glad you’re back! I enjoyed your sermon on Sunday and I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of the series.

  2. Of course, my wife and I enjoyed the sermon. But of note is the fact that Carole’s mom enjoyed it. She’s 88 and decidedly old school. So when a sermon gets her seal of approval, it’s a big, big deal.
We look forward to the subsequent messages on this topic.
