Today, Emily and I celebrate ten years of marriage. We were married on September 8, 2000, at the Culver Palms Church of Christ in Los Angeles. While I remember more about the marriage, I remember quite a bit about the wedding. Ken Durham officiated. Scott Lambert was my best man. Linda Truschke was my best woman (she's was with me, Scott and Ken before the wedding). I remember the music:
- The parents came down to Michelle Tumes' "For the Glory of Name"
- Emily came down the aisle to Highland Cathedral.
- Won by One sang, "Oh Lord, You Have Been Good."
I remember it as a Christ-Centered event, and one of the happiest days of my life.
There really isn’t a way for me to describe my love for Emily in writing, and I don’t want to sent the cheese-averse readers of my blog into a dry heave. So, I’ll save it for her and just simply say here that next to the honor of being married to Christ, being married to Emily is the greatest blessing in my life.
I’m so looking forward to the next 10 years, and hopefully a lot more. I’m eager to watch our love grow for another 10 years…and eager to grow old with Emily. I’m eager to watch our girls grow into Christian young women. I'm eager to see where the next 10 years will take us. Our first 10 were quite eventful in every way and deepened our love in ways that only years can.
Thank you, Father, for a great 10 years. Thank you, especially, for Emily, who made those years joyful and wonderful.
