2 Weeks

We are now inside two weeks of the grand reopening of Highland Oaks’ newly renovated Worship Center. For the past five-plus months, we have met in multiple services in the church Fellowship Hall.

While there are worse places to worship, the low ceilings, hot temperature, and lack of traffic space have made it a challenge to put it mildly.

Here’s been the beautiful thing…the experience of sacrificing not only our comfort but our financial resources has opened up a whole new window of the church’s heart. It’s been a beautiful thing. Now, we’ll not only head back into beautiful surroundings…we’ll reenter a more mature and loving family of Christians…better prepared for ministry.

It’s been a long and sometimes arduous journey. But it’s definitely been a worthwhile journey.

  1. While I eagerly anticipate the inaugural service in the new digs, I have thoroughly enjoyed the “old school” services in the fellowship hall.
Are you looking forward to cutting your preaching in half? Speaking to a crowd is hard work and I’m glad you’ve survived double duty with flying colors.

  2. It’s going to be exciting for sure! We were in Abilene this past weekend and are leaving Wednesday to go on Jeremy’s choir trip. So our next Sunday back in church will be in the new auditorium! It’s exciting! I noticed no post about the Mavs today… they were absolutely horrible! We were there last night as well. They were very sloppy. Let’s hope they got all that out of their system. Have a great week!
